    Akshay Kumar made his entry into Bollywood with action thrillers. Bollywood which was devoid of an action-hero at the time lapped him up instantly and the tall and handsome Punjabi munda quickly found a huge female fan following. While Akshay always remained in the news more for his relationships than for his performances, he transformed into a box-office king after the huge success of his comedy flick Hera Pheri. Here is a list of recent films that made Akshay an even bigger star.
    Holiday (2014)
    Akshay’s 100 crore blockbuster this year dealt with the important issue of sleeper cells. The movie saw the Khiladi Kumar in his action avatar. The movie saw him get paired opposite Sonakshi Sinha once again.
    Special 26 (2013)
    Akshay’s association with Neeraj Pandey made for an awesome robbery story, based on true incidents. The story was appreciated by everyone because of the gripping screenplay. Kajal Aggarwal was seen paired opposite Akki in this film.
    Akshay’s production venture saw him portray the character of Lord Krishna. This 100 crore blockbuster was one of the off beat films to have earned so much appreciation from the audiences and critics alike.
    Akshay’s police avatar has always been appreciated by his fans and this movie had him in double role, one as the action cop and the other as the comedy king. Audiences’ love made this Telugu remake another 100 crore blockbuster which saw Akki paired opposite Sonakshi Sinha for the first time.
    Akshay’s comedy has always dragged people to the theatres and when it has him collaborating with Sajid Khan, fans just can’t get enough of him. The film had a gamut of 12 actors, all of whom contributed to make this film Akki’s first 100 crore blockbuster.
